Adolescent Girls & Young Women Empowerment
The project, "Empowerment of AGYWs through Integrated DREAMS Services," is an initiative to address social, economic and reproductive health challenges faced by Adolescent Girls and Young Women aged 15-24.
DREAMS Acronym: Determined, Resilient, Empowered, Mentored and Safe
With funding from USAID/PEPFAR, Kitovu Mobile in Partnership with Rakai Health Sciences Program has implemented this program since 2016 in Rakai, Kyotera and Masaka Districts.
Project Goal
To reduce HIV incidence among Adolescent Girls and Young Women, through socio economic strengthening, provision of adolescent friendly services and linking their partners and potential partners for VMMC and ART.
Target Population
- • Adolescent Girls (10-19 years old)
- • Orphans and Vulnerable Children
- • Young Women (20-24 years old)
- • Male Sex Partners (20-49 years old)
Project Objectives
Improved income levels of AGYWs aged 15-24 and their households
Increased access to VMMC services and ART for AGYW partners
Increased access to adolescent friendly services
Project Interventions
- Enrollment and orientation of AGYWs on DREAMS Services
- Financial literacy training for AGYWs
- IGA Identification and Registration for AGYWs
- Formation of SILC groups among enrolled AGYWs
- Training in Vocational skills and agriculture
- Provision of IGAs to the AGYWs
- Partner tracking and sensitization meetings
- HTC testing camps and Friendly Corners
- Post trauma counseling for violence survivors
- Education subsidies for vulnerable in-school AGYWs

Mobile Farm School
Empowering teenage school dropouts aged 15-24 with modern sustainable farming skills.
Since 1998 • In partnership with Kindernothilfe (KNH)
The Mobile Farm School (MFS) project targets Teenage School Dropouts (TDOs), equipping them with modern sustainable and organic farming skills.
Implemented in 27 sub-counties of Greater Masaka districts, the project has graduated over 4,000 TDOs.

Target Population
- • 1,440 adolescents and young people aged 15-24
